Meetup safety guidelines

Most folks in Southeast Missouri are decent. Still, use your head and stay safe when you meet someone from this site in person. Your safety is your responsibility.

If anything feels off at any point, walk away. No deal is worth your safety.
Meet in public Bring a friend if you can Trust your gut

Where to meet

  • Meet in a public place with good lighting, like a gas station or a busy parking lot.
  • If the deal feels big or odd, bring a friend or family member.
  • Avoid meeting at your home or the other person’s home if you can help it.

Money and payments

  • Count cash where people can see you, not tucked off in a dark corner.
  • Be careful with digital payments and double check who you are sending money to.
  • Do not share bank account numbers or full card details with anyone.

Checking the item

  • Inspect the item carefully before you hand over money.
  • Test electronics to make sure they turn on and function.
  • For tools, equipment, vehicles, or anything big, check serial numbers or titles where it makes sense.

Trust your gut

If someone acts strange, pushes you to move fast, or something feels off, walk away. There will always be other deals.
